Welcome to RestoDiary! These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our web application and services (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Description of Service

RestoDiary is a service that allows users to upload images of restaurant receipts. We use the Google Gemini API to analyze these images and attempt to extract information, including but not limited to food items, ingredients, estimated calories, prices, and totals. Users can then save this generated information to their account.

2. User Accounts

To use RestoDiary, you must register for an account. Account registration is handled exclusively through Google Sign-In. By creating an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information as prompted by the Google Sign-In process.
  • Maintain the security of your account and be responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

3. In-App Purchases: Coins

Certain features of the Service, specifically the generation of information from a receipt, require the use of “Coins.”

  • Coins are a virtual currency that can be purchased within the Service.
  • One or more Coins are consumed each time you submit a receipt for analysis.
  • All purchases of Coins are final and non-refundable.
  • Coins have no monetary value outside of the RestoDiary Service and cannot be exchanged for cash or other items.

4. User Conduct

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Upload any content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, or otherwise objectionable.
  • Impersonate any person or entity.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or engage in any activity that disrupts, diminishes the quality of, or interferes with the performance of the Service.
  • Upload images that are not restaurant receipts or that infringe on any third party’s rights.

5. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Accuracy of Information

You acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • The ingredient and calorie information provided by the Service is generated by an artificial intelligence model (Google Gemini API) which incorporates data from Google Search.
  • THIS INFORMATION IS AN ESTIMATE AND MAY NOT BE ACCURATE. It is provided for informational and entertainment purposes only.
  • The accuracy of the information can be affected by the quality of the receipt image, the specificity of the restaurant’s menu items, and the limitations of the AI model.
  • DO NOT rely on the calorie or ingredient information for medical, dietary, or allergy-related purposes. Always consult with a qualified health professional for dietary advice and verify allergen information directly with the restaurant.
  • RestoDiary is not liable for any inaccuracies in the generated data, including ingredients, calories, or prices. The Service is provided “AS IS” without any warranties of accuracy.

6. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the account settings page. Upon deletion, we will take steps to remove your personal data as outlined in our Privacy Policy.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion, without notice, for any conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to other users of the Service, us, or third parties.

7. Intellectual Property

By uploading a receipt image (“User Content”), you grant RestoDiary a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, process, and display your User Content solely for the purpose of operating, providing, and improving the Service.

All rights, title, and interest in and to the Service (excluding User Content) are and will remain the exclusive property of RestoDiary and its licensors.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RestoDiary shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, resulting from your use of the Service or your reliance on any information obtained from the Service.

9. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Terms on this page. Your continued use of the Service after any such change constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
